What can you say about the current holders of The Radio Two Folk Awards Best Live act, except expect fireworks, particularly if they've got their dancers with them.
Their folk sound is as much influenced by the Clash, let's not forget Strummer played Cambridge Folk Festival and XTC as it has been by names more recognised in the folk world. As the name implies this band is loud and brash, it walks with a swagger and it's sold it's soul to the devil.
They're also a band that feels very much at home with it's English roots. Morris is not something to hide away and be ashamed of it's an important part of our cultural heritage, something to shout about loudly
Folk is a living tradition and the Demon Barbers are close to it's beating heart. They put everything into their performances, they know their job is to entertain and if as a by product of that they can educate, more power to them. Miss this one at your peril.
